About the Role

The Product Manager understands consumer behaviour and drives customer satisfaction by providing a range of market leading solutions focused on garden, home, and hardware categories. With insights and trends of consumer, growth will be driven through market leading merchandise strategies and defined by excellence in respect of quality, design, and innovation in line with the company’s growth strategy.

The Product Manager:

  • Works with cross-functional teams to understand, plan, design, build, source and roll-out product solutions that deliver the company’s vision and strategy.
  • Contributes implement strategic & tactical plans to maximise subcategory growth, market share and revenue objectives in line with overall company’s growth strategy.
  • Manages to deliver consumer centric product solutions and are accountable for the end-to-end management of their portfolio.
  • Manage the supplier portfolio and relationships to ensure sustainable and optimal source of supply.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the subcategory brand and product IP.
  • Identify risk across all aspects of the subcategory and manage impact.
  • Build a strong working relationship with the GSO office and ensure that we maximise benefit.
  • Build and manage a caring and productive relationships with the cross-functional teams of sales, supply, finance, design, marketing & HR, so that company’s objectives are realised.
  • Build and manage a caring and productive relationship with the product managers, broader merchandise team and Head of Merchandise so that company’s objectives are realised.
  • Build and manage a caring and productive relationship with external customers, so that company’s objectives are realised
  • Support the development and execution of product training.
  • Monitor monthly expenses to budget and ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Identify the appropriate industry events to participate in.
  • Develop and manage travel budget and plans to ensure that the correct rhythm is maintained for fairs, suppliers and market visits.
  • Develop and manage the sample budget and sample process to ensure sample budget is adhered to and sample rooms are neat, organised and non-working samples cleared.

Qualifications:

Knowledge

  • Ideally 2+ years’ experience as a Product Manager
  • Bachelor’s Degree Education
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products and other information systems
  • Legal understanding of product criteria (e.g.: Australian Standards)
  • Knowledge of Market & Sales principles

  • Demonstrated end to end project management and success of launching products
